summer learning Journey prep 1

Hi today emma from the summer learning journey came to our school again and we were focusing on countries we have to chose one I cose canada because I think that I want to learn about canada here is a slide.Hope you enjoy.

zones

On friday were ment to go to zones but we did not well that was because it was raining .So it was postponed to Monday this week on Monday we got to school before 8:30 and  went to burnside park.
to do ahletics that was the zones I went for high jump and 1000m run. after A we while everyone had finished like at 2:40 and we went back to school we were back very late because we had to leave late because they were running late I think that I was still A great day And I cant wait till next year when When you are year six you can do the throwing thnigs for zones.

Pet day

Today is pet day at our school Every Child gets to make a sand saucer or a vegetable sculpture
I made a vegetable sculpture it was a swan  .Then you would put it in the libary for it to be judged.
We also had to bring a toy or a real pet the real pets though had to come at 1.45
I also had hoby horse racing and later we will be doing agri sports in our house teams.
I will update it tonight when the photos come through.

summer learning journey

yesterday Emma from the summer learning journey came to our class and out year fours she introduced us to the summer learning journey where you could blog about things and you could earn points of it it had to be in the summer hollidays though so if you can see this right now get blogging because in your whole school first place you will get a brand new blue tooth speaker!!!!!
in second you will get a boat then you will get a set of headphones in third place Including other little cool things in there So we were all excited at first but when we heard about commenting we all got very not so happy but i still was because i could get a easy track to get top 3 .!!!

attitude

On wednesday A tama from attitude came to our class he was talking to us about things like what animal you are.I thought that I was a beaver We had a lot of fun with him He also has lots of funny jokes and is funny himself .Here is a few pictures for you to see what we were doing.If you wanted to know what were the animals there were four .The first was otter they are always doing lots of silly things and making everyone laugh .Then was lion always trying to be a good leader.Third was golden retriever they are always very kind to other people and are the best at making friends.
Then there is the beaver They like to get everything done in time.

codeing

This week we learnt to use a new app .called code.org it is a fun coding place where you can code lots of things .You can choose . From this week so far I have done two projects one is called Dance party .The other is A Star wars game here is a link to it.
.The instructions are that you need to collect all of the probe droids and the puffer pig But if you bump into all of the Stormtroopers you will die and you will lose 1000 points. as soon as you press play you will start the storm troopers will follow you sometimes if you win and there are still storm troopers don't bump into them because they still take away 100 points .

novel study

Novel study. This term we started to do a novel study.  I was reading a book called time detectors so we did a novel study. I so far have found It challenging and interesting because we have to create a story map which is when you read you add in some more words that explainś what happened in the chapter or page. And that was hard to think of. Here is a picture of my story map that I have made so far.  I think that when I read it I want to read it more and more. Recount´s

This term We have been learning about recounts Here is one of my recounts think that I liked it quite A bit I also thought that it was challenging because I had to write A minimum amount of words.

Last Friday it was athletics day for our school. Our first rotation was long jump. We had three jumps. My highest score was 2.94 meters. I came 2nd to last. Our next station was shot put I like shot put I threw an average 5 point 50 meters. We also had 3 throws. It was great. We then went to discuss We got three throws again. I threw About 8 meters with A 750-gram discus I think that my friend was quite happy because He threw 11.50 with A 1kg!!!!!. We then rotated to sprints It was a longer walk because It was Way over the other side of the fields and at the start we were at the end of the Field so it took us about 3 minutes to walk there We did sprints We first did 50m sprints my time was 9.33 seconds And We then did 80m My time was 14.34 second then finally we did the hundred meter I got 19 seconds 20 miller seconds. After that we had a brake For about half an hour to three-quarters of an hour and then continued with the last thing. It was  high jump I came second with 97 cm then we packed up all the equipment and did house relays Our team came second It was quite good I think that It was the best we had ever done We then did Team relays With the parents We came last now we have a reason . and that reason Is because We had 10 people and other teams had 6 and we were so closely tied then it was time to go home We actually got to go home early and that was the earliest time we had ever been let to go home on a 6 hour day We then just waited and waited till there a clock. I felt like it was the best day in my life at school And next time it will be even better I would say

For the people that made it to the zones well good luck for them I think that they will be very pleased with their placing And for all the first places I also think they are so happy.

What I found hard-Writing the recounts and coming up with the ideas for my recount.
What improvements I could have done-Add in more punctuation
Put spaces between the paragraphs.
What I am proud of - I am proud of my amount of writing
I am proud of The conclusion I made and the detail of the things that I did.

Recount work book

Mearurement

This term we are moving on to Measurement. In math the last term we were working on statistics. We have a Slide each and are working through them on A measurement slide. The questions were all based on measurement like time and ALso degrees. I also have started to do some geometry but Mainly Measurements I felt like some were challenging but not all of them some were also very easy. I can put the pictures of the slide

loud shirt day

Today it is loud shirt day It is not when our shirts have speakers or anything it is when you have to wear a bright shirt and bring a gold coin donation Loud shirt day is for the death people. Please leave a comment for me thank you

Athletics

My writing

This week I have been doing some writing about a narrative and here is my narrative

On a stormy night, A boy called Jonathon and his friend zack go to the computer in their house.

The computer is brand new and they decide to play some games on it the game’s they played were all cool lie nitrome,bic,bic3 and nitro type. But when they got to play nitro type it went all bonkers like crazy. Jonathon did not know what to do and after playing it for so long how could it just go bonkers like that and they could not know what to do Jonathon  had a USB stick that had no storage used and he plugged it the new computer.the computer did nothing now what are we going to do said zack well, Jonathon said the process is not done we need to upload this virus to the use drive, after a few minutes it was done Now we can plug it into the hackers computer said, Jonathon,. But there is no computer hacker the person that put the virus in the computer  I have an old computer that is pretty broken that we can use to find his location okay so that is where he lives well let's get a rope and some weapons, like some nunchucks, food and, A phone. Okay now did you bring the USB drive yes it is right here okay now we can plug it in the computer of the hacker?

Now let's write important meeting at pz4,s house to night and he will hopefully open it now leave it like that and hide Two hours later oh that right said the hacker  and he opened it on dammit now my computer has a virus wow look at his computer said zack it is going crazy like all of his tabs are going crazy flying all over the place

The diarama

This week me and my friends were making a diorama from the book refugee in a part of the story a boy called Ivan gets a shark attack and his leg was bit off and he dies and we made a diorama of it here are a few pictures

This week I am going to the student summit and It is at Hornby high. I have made a biteable It is a small video That is a few seconds and it is supposed to be able to teach someone something in a matter of time Here I will put a video of it It is about how to create a simple youtube account you have to be 13

This week I have been working on my reading This week we made a shelter for mamhud because he had to stay in it is is still from refugee I think it is quite a good book here is a picture

No 3 in a row

This week I have been working on my hath we had to make a 4x4 table And colour in the squares red but we couldn't have three in A row And try to have the fittest int the square And then we did A 5x5 and it was the same rules here are some pictures.

This week me and my friend have been working on a Boat To escape a place Called Cuba.We have finished It all because there were 3 people were working on It The boat.It is from A book Called refugee.It is a great book About three Families Trying to escape their countries And here are the main children Josef From Germany Isabel Froom Cuba And mamuhdu from Syria  And they face lots of dangerous and life-risking decision's Here will be some pictures

This week I have also been working on my speech.I came 3rd

Our eco trip

On Wednesday we wnt to the eco drop and learnt lots of things like the bottle lids of the milk and water bottles can't go into the recycling bin and the sunproof milk bottles are not recognized as a milk bottle. here are some pictures

this week I have been learning  about decimals like
765.981 the 7 represents the hundreds the 6 represents the tens
the 5 represents the ones then you have a decimal then from behind the decimal it is 9 and so the nine represents  the tenths and the 8 represents the hundredths and the one represents the thousands

What am I proud of this term? This term I think I have done well especially on my reading.

What challenges did I have? This term My challenges were doing converting decimals to

What will I focus on next term?          I will focus on mainly my math because I still need some help on my converting fractions to percentages than to decimals  but still I will work on my writing next term because It is a bit of a challenge for me to always use the third person in all my writing that needs it  also my newspaper reports because They are quite hard to do too because you need the third person.

my newspaper report

This week I have been working on finishing my newspaper report I have finished

• the new season of Ninjago is going to be released we all know that there is 8 waves or seasons but have you thought about having a season 9 well there is going to be a season 9. 
• most people don't know about it and the people that know about it Are very excited and are trying to watch it but it is not released 
• yet so that's how it will be.

•  the new season brings some new cool toys and gadgets like the dragon master's there are other sets too like the new lego dragons. the waves are suitable for all ages so anyone can watch it the season episodes will be released after the sets.
• the season will have approximately there will be 10 episodes and it will be released on August the 7th .the voice actors have not given it a name so it will be a
•  surprise when it has  a name for season 9.

• in season 9 all the ninja are in it and even lloyd is better after losing his power which was very shocking .the season is more of a mature season.
• but I think of the designs and I think there quite nice 
• for a lego season.the season feels like it brings you all the way back to the past like you walk into a time capsule!

• the season Can be for all ages but young audience   pgr would be recommended. some scenes can get a bit 
• Silly the most sensibel ninja of the season is zane . he does not have a sense of humor and won't laugh if you tell him a joke! All of the ninja have new suits in the season and It will be like that for the whole season. The season also comes with new villains and the villains are quite serious from the trailer it will not be released 
• It is said that season 8 is the last episode but really it is not when season 9 comes out it will be quite surprising because barely anyone knows and when the sets are out  they will all be brought real quick by the lego nd ninjago fans and so hope you don't miss the seasons on tv.yip after a we while   there will be the season 9 on tv but it will be on youtube the whole season is based on new villain’s
• They are always changing the characters but, still it is to match the seasons.When it is up to how good the qulity is well it is quite good in some other countrys it will not be so funny or can be a bit diffrent and it can be one very popular show in nz and other coultry

adding fractions

this week I have been learning to ad fractions like 5/6+ 6/6 = 11/12

first you add the first number from the fraction to the first number on the second fraction and then add the second  number on each fraction and then add both the answers and you have the answer.

This week I have been learning non cronilogical reports And here Is my one .

Today I am Going to tell you the lego story .

Once there was a man that lived with his four kidyboos and his wife he was called Ollea But he lost all of his job;s his wife said that Things Could Not get worse But they did his wife died But with the responsibility of Four sons He knew That he Had to do something. it did not take him long to put an Idea to work when he had finished he made a wooden duck he started a toy shop and he had to give his  brand a name he had four sons leo ethan george and oliver he took the start of each sons names letter and it spelt lego.One day A man that owned A shop Wanted to Order three hundred wooden toys so his oldest son decided To help Him to make them .But The man said he had A bankrupt and he could not pay for them . so ollea decided to sell them himself But All he Got was Some food But it was enough to feed the family for 2 months.one day he buyed A plastic toy making machine.he had A brick That someone had designed And so he decided to redesign them By then He had over 5,000 workers in his factory. He stopped Making the wooden toys And then All the people had heard of lego and everyone Started To buy the Sets But They Were Built In the package and .so they started to not Build them and put Them In packages So the kids Could Build What  tHey Wanted he Had A lego airport That Was For lego delivery One day he decided to create the best thing ever

Lego land, Where everything Was made out Of lego He was Expecting 100,000 People To visit The first year But unfortunately 600,000 people came! and So a child's Imagination Is the limit.

my non chron report

In the past 2 weeks we have been learning about non chron report's I have learnt about how To write a non chron report .Some things were a bit hard for me to do like third person.so here is my one that I wrote.

Introduction

the super shoe is a very comfortable shoe It was invented by donald trump.

50 children were asked to try it for a week.

Style

It comes in a light shade of blue.They have jet packs underneath each shoe with a mp3 player .The shoes also give you super speed and the inside feels like your standing on a gel cloud .They never run out of energy.It also has quite a lot of things that may come in handy like a 1 times half inch phone. And a mini knife That has a laser that cuts metal.

Material

It is made mostly out of rubber and strong cloth with metal and a few pieces of metal it has no laces.this is important for it to not have laces because underneath each shoe there is a jetpack.that's just for safety.because a child got burnt and just about died So that's why they do not have laces any more .

Price

They will be available from the warehouse and number one shoes they will cost 115 at number one shoes and also the warehouse. Most people will want to buy a pair because they are very handy

Some people don't want to buy them because they are pricey.

Conclusion

99 percent liked it so much they all brought a pair and even told so many people About how much they loved wearing it.They were wearing it to school and in every event like cross country they won it.
